happy new year!
we started 2010 with a vasilopita, given to us by our sweet neighbors. the vasilopita is a traditional greek new year's day cake in which is hidden a coin or trinket which gives good luck to the receiver. our neighbors, both greek, gave it to us complete with explanation of all the tradition attached to it. we were so excited to share this with them!

So, who got the trinket and where was it?
hugh got it in one of his pieces! it was a dime... he's saving it for something special. :)
it was pretty cool and so nice of them to think of us.
